If you explore every webmasters forum on the net and some webmaster and seo related blogs and articles. You will read different thoughts about using meta tags. Many of them saying that google is no longer care about meta tags and some of them say they are. Well I guess most or all of them agreed that title is one of the most important in onpage optimization.

In my own opinion, observation, testing, and experience I am still believing that google is giving some importance to to all page meta tags. If not why that google using meta description of the site when showing a search result, not all the time but I have seen many search result that google is showing the meta description of a certain page or site.

In my understanding, google or other search engine will not care about your meta tags if you used it as keyword staffing.

But let’s accept the facts, that unlike old days most of the search engines give very high value to webpage and website meta tags, but because most of webmasters and blackhat seoer abuse it, the value was loose.
