I have been testing this for more than 2 months now, what is the best technique if you’re monetizing your blog via google adsense. I have seen many blogs, articles, and sites having very long post or article on their site.

At first I thought this may help my site to earn higher from adsense because I have longer content. But to my surprised, my adsense impression is high but my ctr is very low. So I decided to make a separate experiment to test what is better.

I tried to create 2 articles, the first one is 500 words long articles and the other one is 150 long article. I promoted the two site well to search engine both article have the same niche target. In 1 month the two article start getting traffic averaging 30 - 40 unique a day. The article with 500 words only averaging 1-2 clicks per day while the second article is averaging 7-12 clicks a day. I continue promoting the two article for two months and the traffic increase and it’s consistent that the shorter article make more income and click than the longer article.

Base on my experience I am confidence to tell you that limit your article to at least 200 words for higher conversion , if you can’t avoid to make the article longer break it in to two part or three parts.
