Believe it or don’t, you can make tones of traffic from the pictures you’re displaying in your site. Many webmasters sometimes don’t see the advantage of their images. I have a site that getting 1000 plus traffic from google image search result for only single picture.

Many webmaster don’t give to much attention to their pictures as long they put the image in their site to put some life on the site. But robots don’t appreciate the beauty of your picture. Robots only recongnized text not the picture.

It is important to optimized your picture to get advantage on it. First you need to name your picture with the real description of it. For example German Shepherd Dog , don’t just name picture on some like mydog or dog. Because this is one way robots interpret what your picture is. Also in the picture alt tag include the description of the picture and also in the title tag of the picture…

Then after optimizing your picture you maywant to submit it to some social networking sites like myspace, friendster, flcker, picassa, and more… this will help the image to get noticed by search engines.

But don’t abuse the alt and title tags else you will never see your pictures in the google search index pages.
