Youtube recently launched a new portion of its site only for HD content. This will allow the users to easily browse through what is the largest archive of high definition content on the web. The site is already building a large scale HD launch with an introduction of 16:9 video player and the ability to watch HD on selected videos. But to a point it is difficult to separate the HD content from videos encoded at YouTube’s normal resolution.

Together with this they already started displaying HD movies in a large video player that will takes up nearly entire browser window even without going into the sometimes-annoying full screen mode.

They have also released a set of tropical portals related to News , Music , and Movies . Each portal is using a different set of data to surface the most popular YouTube videos of the moment. Youtube’s new portal offers a more comprehensive listing with the sexier interface and spots for the ‘featured’ films.
