Google made Picasa and is now known as the popular free management software. Finally they made its way to Mac. The said application has been noticeably absent in Macintosh, especially the fact that it has been available for Linux which is typically lags behind Macs and Windows since 2006. Apple’s long running iPhoto is the competitor of Picasa, which is with Mac for years.

Others already test it and it is much faster with iPhoto even though it lacks the sleek look of Apple’s products. The features of Picasa is very users friendly you can find and apply different effects easily and you can import photos easily and most of the things are intuitive but still the folder browsing will put you on a little confusion. No wonder if other will switch or consider using Picasa from others.

Picasa doesn’t move or reorganize images but instead keeps tracks where your images are scattered across your hard drive and will allow you to put them in one folder that is one of the biggest differences between Picasa and iPhoto.
Google is doing their very best to put Picasa play nice with your existing library while iPhoto come in a preinstalled on every Mac for years. There are still many difference with the two application likewise in Picasa users can typically modify images on their hard drives while iPhoto’s library are treated in a different manner: application will copy the images to a new location and then with that you can apply changes or edit the images you like.

This will not be easy for Picasa to entirely drop iPhoto because they are still premature and Apple will likely unveil a new version of iPhoto in soon time at Macworld keynote.
