MixedInk launches its services to the public. The idea is from Digg and popular wiki sites that creates a single unique document, they are the document creation tool that will be ideals for those who want to work in a group far larger than they could normally do or encounter in their workplace. The inauguration speech for President Obama will be published in two weeks time with the help of Slate for the conjunction with today’s public launch.
There are still some available collaborative document services available like Google Docs, Zoho and the newly announced version of iWork and these focuses on small group of people to interact with each other. But then this is not that good for a group of large or more than a dozen of people.
This new launched services to the public is taking a very different collaboration that will allow their documents to be draft using Digg-like voting system. Documents they have passed will be rated by their peers and be voted also they can be invited to submit new versions. There will be able to read the most popular passage and version that will float at the top until they finish voting.
MixedInk is really appropriate for a large group but for small group it will not be useful. At large scale they use the traditional Wiki systems, this system has already put to the test on some of the very large scale documents. The service of Mixedink will be free for those users who create document on MixedInk’s site.
